  • Tzedek Organizing Training

    Northern Virginia

Many Jews are committed to pursuing economic, racial, and social justice here in our region, grounded in the biblical command “tzedek tzedek tirdof / justice, justice you shall pursue.” But how, in practical terms, do we pursue justice? What do we actually do to move from the world as it is now to the world we want to live in? Join JUFJ for our Tzedek Organizing Training program, Sundays in January, 2026.

  • Virginia Immigrant Justice Lobby Day

    Richmond

Three of the bills, SB351, SB352, and SB783, are being heard at a committee hearing on Wednesday, January 28 in the Committee for Courts and Justice. Join Virginia JUFJers on Tuesday, January 27 on Zoom at 7 PM to prepare to testify virtually at the hearing in support of these critical bills.

  • Until All Of Us Are Free: Labor Seder and Social Justice Seder

    DC
    Baltimore
Temple Sinai and Beth Am Synagogue

Each spring, the JUFJ community comes together to retell the story of Passover and take action on issues in our region. Passover reminds us that our generation, like all generations, has an urgent responsibility to work toward collective liberation right now.

  • Closed for Passover

JUFJ is closed for Passover. Chag Pesach Sameach!

  • JUFJ at May Day

    DC
    African American History Museum

Join JUFJers from across the region for a day of action and solidarity. The Trump regime and its billionaire allies are gutting union jobs in our region. They are hunting and killing people in the streets, stripping away our rights, overturning our laws, desecrating our public lands, and working overtime to entrench their own power. Now, our elections are on the horizon. If we don't take the reins this regime will move their intimidation from the streets to the polls. It's time to make it clear we won't accept anything less than elections that are free and fair, and results that are respected.

  • Virginia Action Team Meeting

    Zoom

JUFJ and our partners are deeply disappointed that Governor Spanberger vetoed bills that would have expanded workers’ rights, and that would have protected immigrant Virginians from ICE when they are at courthouses. Everyone in Virginia, no matter what job they work or where they were born, should be able to work with dignity and participate in our legal system without fear. JUFJ and our partners remain committed to building a Virginia where everyone can thrive. We have the power to make change — and it’s on all of us to do the work to see that change through. Join us at our next Virginia Action Team Meeting to share updates and discuss next steps. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a regular attendee or new to the work! We will have an optional JUFJ 101 session at 6:30 PM, and the full meeting will begin at 7:00 PM.
