We are packing 250 gift bags (half in Baltimore, half in Rockville) to deliver to statewide and Montgomery County elected officials. Jewish tradition teaches us that everyone deserves a safe and stable home. Though Montgomery County passed a Rent Stabilization law last year that will cap the rent at a maximum of 6%, Rockville is exempt from this legislation as a municipality.
Join JUFJ and our partners in the Montgomery County Racial Equity Network at the Rockville City Council meeting where the city council will hear a briefing on rent stabilization, and then discuss whether the city will adapt protections for stable and predictable rents. We will meet at Rockville City Hall at 6 PM for a rally ahead of the 7 PM City Council session. You do not need to live in the City of Rockville to attend this meeting.
