Judaism’s ethic of mutual care calls us to hold police accountable to the people, which is why JUFJ and our partners have been calling to restore local control over the police in Baltimore — the only city in Maryland that doesn’t oversee its own police department — since 2018. Raise awareness about this historic ballot measure on Election Day with JUFJ and our partners at CJSJ, SURJ, and CASA. Help pass local control in Baltimore by signing up for a shift on Election Day! Folks must attend a Zoom training on Monday from 7-8 PM, and pick up materials at CASA on Sunday from 10 AM - 1 PM, or JUFJ on Monday from 12 PM - 6 PM. You will receive more information via email after you RSVP.

MDCEP’s training will cover how folks can advocate on budget issues, especially in light of the state’s new budget process this year. We will begin the meeting with a community Chanukah candlelighting!
