Montgomery County Worksession Watch Party: Policing Data Bill
Join the JUFJ Montgomery County Team as we watch the worksession for Bill 45-20. The bill would implement recommendations from advocates and the Office of Legislative Oversight (OLO) to strengthen the Montgomery County Police Department's (MCPD) data collection. We'll start with a background of the bill at 9 AM, and the worksession will begin at 9:30 AM.

Maryland State Hearing Watch Party: Anton’s Law
Join JUFJ's Maryland Team to virtually watch the state Judicial Proceedings Committee hear testimony on reforming the Maryland Public Information Act, which would make police misconduct investigations more transparent. The bill hearing will be sometime between 11 AM and 8:30 PM. Register and you will get an email notification when the hearing is about to begin.

Demand Justice for Kwamena Ocran
Join JUFJ and our partners at the Silver Spring Justice Coalition to demand justice for Kwamena Ocran, who was unjustly killed by Gaithersburg police on January 8, 2021. We'll meet -- socially distant and with masks -- at the Gaithersburg City Hall on Sunday, January 24 at 2 PM to share our demands. There will be options to join the action inside your car. Please bring signs calling for Justice for Kwamena!
