Join us Sunday to grieve the broader suffering and destruction around us, through chanting of traditional texts, lifting up demands and voices of those impacted by detention, deportation, imprisonment, and other state violence, and bringing our lamentations to the seats of federal and local power.

Join JUFJ activists from across DC and Maryland to discuss "EVICTED: Poverty and Profit in the American City" by Matthew Desmond. The John A. Wilson Building 1350 Pennslyvania Ave NW, Washington, DCThe DC Council has scheduled a hearing to receive public input on Initiative 77 and paying the District's tipped workers the same minimum wage as everyone else. This initiative was passed by 54% of primary voters but now the Council is seeking to overturn the will of the voters.

Sukkot Harvest Celebration
Common Good City Farm 300 V St NW, Washington, DCJoin JUFJ, along with partners Gather DC and OneTable, on an urban farm in Shaw to celebrate the season's bounty with hands-on workshops and a farm-to-Sukkah feast grounded in the themes of the agricultural harvest festival.
Amanda Herring, OneTable's JOFEE fellow, Mollie Sharfman from GatherDC, and Elizabeth Heyman from Jews United for Justice invite you to end your week by taking a pause from the busyness of the city to connect with nature and eat from the harvest at Common Good City Farm. From a pickling lesson to tasting local seasonal ciders, we will come together and celebrate abundance both on the farm and in our lives.
This event is supported by a grant from The Jewish Food Experience, a program of The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.
This event is targeted to young adults in their 20s and 30s. If the cost is prohibitive, please contact us to discuss discounted tickets.

Put A Price On It: Clean Energy Bill Hearing
The John A. Wilson Building 1350 Pennslyvania Ave NW, Washington, DCThe Put a Price On It DC coalition, of which JUFJ is a proud member, has been fighting for years for strong legislation that aggressively targets climate change and includes the most ambitious renewable energy standards in the country. Councilmember Cheh has introduced this bill, and we need you to come out to the Wilson Building to support it at this hearing!
